Title 1 Services
For the 2015-2018 school years, Catalyst has been working collaboratively with Public Schools and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) associated with Portland Public School District, to provide Title 1 Tutoring Services to disadvantaged students. Additionally, Catalyst is contracted with PPS's Multiple Pathways to Graduation program to provide additional supports to students in Language Arts, Math, and in GED focused programs.
Schools and CBOs receiving services include: Alliance at Benson and Meek, De La Salle North Catholic, DePaul Youth Treatment Program, Mt. Scott Learning Center, the Native American Youth and Family Resource Center, New Avenues for Youth, Open School East and North campuses, Outside In, Portland Community College's Gateway to College and YES to College Programs, Portland Youth Builders, Rosemary Anderson Lents, SE Works, Teen Parent Program, and Youth Progress.
Within this scope of work, the mission of Catalyst is to provide specialized instruction in a small group setting in order to meet the specific needs and skill sets of each student. With an emphasis on personalized instruction, Catalyst tailors each tutoring session within a small group setting of 1-6 students. Additionally, Catalyst tutors utilize a variety of supplemental materials to support student learning. This includes formal and informal assessments that drive instruction and by utilizing a multitude of E-learning resources to help students connect and become more engaged with the content. As research demonstrates, small group instruction provides the most effective means of targeting individual student needs and Catalyst hopes to demonstrate excellence by improving student performance this school year.
Catalyst has contracted with highly qualified tutors who are experienced in working with struggling populations and who are well versed in providing services geared towards students who need specialized instruction in order to overcome a multitude of barriers.
Catalyst looks forward to making strides this coming school year through tried and true best practices through: small group instruction, through relationship and community building, and by demonstrating excellence in instruction.

Career PlanningCatalyst provides education services unlike any other in that we emphasize the importance of career planning in addition to academic support. Catalyst provides a comprehensive service focused on career and college planning, while reinforcing learning through emphasis on excellence in academics.
Tutoring
Catalyst offers tutoring from highly-qualified, local tutors in all subject matters for students in grades K-12 or college level. This includes homework help and test preparation in core content areas, foreign languages, computer instruction, and more. Tutoring is done in the convenience of your home, at your student's school, or at the location of your choice. Catalyst tutors are experienced in their content area and are passionate about helping your student succeed in their homework, on standardized tests like Smarter Balanced, or on SAT/ACT exams.
